Our time in Adelaide .... so far
by Shaz
We've had a lovely week so far. Dave has worked the majority of the time so the girls & I have been able to catch up with Dave's sister in law Amy & her little girl Grace.
Here's a photo of little Gracie with her mummy, Amy.
On Friday we were all able to go to Phil & Amy's for a couple of hours. Amy & I went shopping while the Dad's were looking after the girls as both of them had the day off. We had some lunch & then we headed off as Phil & Amy needed to leave for a weekend away with their church.
And here's a photo of the girls with Dave.
Arriving in Adelaide
by Webmaster
We woke fairly early this morning, about 5.30am. We got up as both girls were awake by 6am & we got ready, had lunch & headed off on the road by 7.20am.
We left so early that the sun was only just rising. Driving along one of the many many many straight roads we pulled over to take a couple of photos of the sunrise.
We had a stop off at a park on the way so the girls could have a play on some play equipment. Lizzie had fun on the swing & slippery dip. Hannah had fun standing up & playing.
We had an early lunch in Lamaroo. Thankfully there was some play equipment there too so Lizzie had a great time with Daddy playing.
We finally arrived in Adelaide at 2.30pm local time, settled into our 2 bedroom apartment & unpacked our huge amounts of luggage for our 10 nights stay. We had 3 visitors late afternoon. Dave's brother Phil, his wife Amy & their daughter Grace visited us. it was great to finally meet our new little niece. The girls & I'll get to see them a lot this week while Dave is working so I'll take some photos & put them up online later on.
We went for a walk which was definitely needed after sitting down for so long over the last couple of days & we found a place to eat some dinner. Hannah even had a bit of pizza crust. Her first! Our girls are now asleep & its now time for us to go to sleep too.

On our way to Adelaide
by Webmaster
We left this morning at 7.45am to drive to Adelaide. When we set out we didn't have any accommodation booked. We tried to book accommodation in Hay, however, all but camp sites were booked. We made our first stop off at Goulburn for morning tea at our favourite bakery.
Here is Hannah afte r her first sleep before we got to Goulburn.
And here is Lizzie at the same time ... fast asleep!
The girls were able to crawl or walk around a bit when we stopped. We got back into the car & arrived in Wagga for lunch at the local McDonalds so that the girls could have some play time and burn off excess energy. Getting back into the car we headed off again.
I (Shaz) drove after lunch & my 3 passengers all fell asleep. It was a quiet trip to Hay. At Hay we found the local RSL club & h
ad some dinner. We also did a search of accommodation in Balranald & found something.
We drove another hour & a half & found our accommodation. It was a lovely motel really. It was quiet & comfortable. It was called The Sturt Motel Balranald. The bathroom was 70's looking but very clean. We arrived in Balranald about 8pm.
Lunch with the Twists
by Shaz
We went over to some friends place for lunch on the 15th May. Every year we try to catch up with the Twist family. Their twin boys are about 6 weeks older than Lizzie & their youngest boy is 10 days older than Hannah. Its great that our kids are similar in age so they can all play together.
Both our families are quite busy so once a year (usually in May) we catch up. We also like to take a photo of the kids so we can see the
changes in them. Obviously the kids change quite a lot at this age.
Here is a photo of our 5 children.
Dave is buried under Lizzie somewhere. The dad's needed to be in the photo too so the kids would stay in one place.
A lovely Mothers Day
by Shaz
Mothers Day 2010 was a lovely day. I started by getting my gorgeous girls up & getting them ready & then got myself ready. I went downstairs for breakfast and Lizzie, our now 3 year old, helped Daddy make a cup of tea & some toast for me for breakfast. They then gave me some gifts of a photo frame with place for 5 photos. I know exactly where I will be putting that once I have the photos printed. And Lizzie had made a beautiful card & plasta heart & decorated them both for me when she was at pre-school last week. There was even a heart shaped key ring with Lizzie's picture in it.
We went off to church where they gave me some chocolate on our way in. After church we went off to Castle Towers for a long lunch.
It was just a lovely day spent with Dave & the girls.
Here is a photo of the wrapping paper & the heart that Lizzie made for me.
Kate's 40th Birthday Celebration
by Shaz
We went down to Wollongong to have dinner with Dave's family for his sister's 40th Birthday on the 27th March. It was a bit of a surprise for Kate as she didn't know that the extended family were going to be there.
Kate had a great day with her kids, going to Taronga Zoo and then went out for dinner in Wollongong & we were all there too. It was a great night catching up with family and everyone seeing how much Lizzie & Hannah had grown since they saw them last.
Here are a couple of photos of the girls...

Lizzie looking a little bored - but who could blame a 2 year old when there was only grown ups to talk to.
We went back and stayed the night at Dave's parents place & then went to church with them the next morning.
The problem with starting a blog is - well finishing it...
by Dave
I was just re-vamping some of my twitter, facebook and linked-in integrations (oh and myspace - but don't tell anyone that I actually have a myspace account will you) when I noticed that the last post on this blog was one about our 3rd wedding anniversary. Now fortunately for me my wife mentioned the fact that our anniversary was comming up so I would not miss it but obviously that means the last blog was at least nearly a year ago - except that when I do the maths I find that since we are about to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary, the last blog post must be nearly TWO years old.
So without further delay I am going to publish this post and put an end to this discracful silence.
Edited to add - we are uploading more posts as we get time so some of the gaps will be filled in.
Colin Buchanan Concert 2009
by Shaz
We went to the Colin Buchanan Christmas Concert which was held at St Andrews Cathedral, Sydney. We were given the tickets, thanks to our good friend Steven Williams.
Lizzie & Dave sat inthe middle of the audience with all the other kids & some of the adults, while Hannah & I sat on the side with Hannah in the pram.
Here is THE Colin Buchanan during the concert...
Lizzie had lots of fun watching Mr Buchanan and listening to songs that she recognised.
Here is Lizzie watching the show....
And here is Hannah enjoying the show....
I had lots of fun watchingthe show as well and would go and see him again when I get the chance.
